ISSS Survival Korean Program Application Open
International Relations is pleased to announce that the application is now open for the ISSS Survival Korean Program for 2016 Fall Semester, where you can develop Korean language skills required to survive in Korea.
ISSS Survival Korean Program will provide all international members of POSTECH with an opportunity to learn essential Korean phrases and develop language skills required to survive in Korea. This program will be differentiated from the Korean class provided by POSTECH Language Education Center in that, rather than focusing on learning the materials from the textbook, it will encourage its students to speak up by practicing conversational activities such as role-playing. After learning the materials inside the classroom, occasional class trips will be arranged where you will be given the opportunities to practice what you have previously learned during classes.
○ Eligibility: All international members of POSTECH
(i.e., students, researchers, professors, and their family members)
○ Session Period: October 4, 2016 – December 9, 2016 (10 weeks)
○ Participation Fee: KRW10,000
*Textbook fees are not included.
○ Application Deadline: September 13, 2016
* Details of the program (e.g., specified days, time, information about textbook, etc.) will be discussed during the orientation on September 28, 2016 (tentative).
** Depending on the classes, you may be required to purchase a textbook.
*** Space is limited to a maximum of 30 students; it will be first-come, first-served.
**** Once you are enrolled in the program, you MUST attend more than 80% of the classes. If, for some unpredictable reasons, you cannot attend the class, you must inform the instructor beforehand, or submit the proof of absence the next class.
For more information regarding the program, please feel free to contact the program coordinator Ms. Kahon Hong (firstname.lastname@example.org).
